Our elevated planter boxes are designed to stand-up to the elements. The weight of soil is very heavy, so we designed our planters to be very sturdy; top heavy wooden legged planters can rot and collapse under the weight of the soil.
The powder coated galvanized steel frame and pre-drilled cedar wood planter box is put together using carriage bolts that go through both the steel frame and the wood. We use carriage bolts so you do not have to worry about the freeze/thaw cycle that can compromise the integrity of products that are just screwed together.
The 14" deep plant box is the perfect depth to grow most vegetables, like tomatoes, beets and carrots. The 36” height is a very comfortable height to sow, weed (if there are any at all) and reap the fruits, or vegetables, of your labor. The planter box is constructed so all plants are within easy reach. If someone leans on the planter box (once the soil is in it) it will not move or tip over.
There are drainage slats in the bottom of the planting box so the
plants will not get waterlogged, yet great for places that have
restrictive water issues.
Each bed is made from untreated cedar wood, grown in the US in a
sustainable forest.; a long lasting, rot resistant, insect repellant wood.
There are no toxins that can leach in your food, like some plastic planters,
pressure treated, stained wood or imported planter boxes.
The frame is made from US steel & powder coated for durability.
